Switching your account to Family First FCU has never been easier. Our step-by-step Simple Switch Kit will take you through this process and help you make a smooth transition.

Step 1 - Open your new account

Visit any one of our convenient branches to open your new Family First FCU account. You’ll gain access to all the benefits of membership. You can also download a printable membership enrollment form that you can fill in and then bring in with you when you come to open your new account.

You will need the following information to complete the account opening process:

  • your previous checking account information
  • a current form of photo ID (driver’s license or permit, passport, military ID, etc.)

Step 2 - Make the Switch

This kit has the forms you'll need to move your finances to Family First, as well as a series of letters for you to send to the organizations involved.  This .pdf is editable, so you should be able to type your information into the fields before you print. The Direct Deposit Form can be used to change your direct deposit with your employer.

The Automatic Payment Change Form will be used for handling each automatic transaction. If you have more than one automatic transaction, simply fill out one form for each payment you need to switch. Click here for a checklist of people you may need to contact.

Step 3 - Close Your Old Accounts

Complete the Account Balance Worksheet to ensure all your outstanding payments and deposits have cleared your old account.  When you are sure there will be no more activity, fill out the Account Closure Form and send it to your previous financial institution. This form instructs them where to send any remaining funds. For your safety, shred all unused checks and deposit slips, as well as destroying old ATM/Debit cards once the account is closed.
