Family First is proud to announce the 2019 Len Szumiloski scholarship. FFCU will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to two high school students/members based on their academic performance, community involvement, extracurricular activities and essay responses.
Qualifying students must be (or become) members of Family First Federal Credit Union and be graduating high school students planning to attend an accredited college or university in the 2019/2020 school year.
This year’s theme is “F.I.R.S.T. – Family. Integrity. Relationships. Service. Trust. - An acronym of Family First key values. Select one and describe how it’s important to you in everyday life and your future.”
Deadline for application is Friday, March 15, 2019. There are three ways to apply:
We're proud to award these scholarships in the name of Len Szumiloski, who was the President and CEO of Family First (then known as the Penfield
Federal Credit Union) from 1972 to 1997. Len passed away in 2005, but his spirit lives on in the credit union's love for the community, and for people helping people. Len, who got his start in education, touched us all with his vision, his laughter, and his leadership. Naming these scholarships after him is but a small honor for what he did for Family First and the Penfield community.
The New York Credit Union Association has released both their New York State-wide and Rochester Chapter scholarships for 2019. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you have to be a member of Family First and a college bound high school senior at the time you apply.
