Penfield Community Champions
Family First representatives, Tom Dambra (CEO) and Jean Sweet (Member Loan Analyst) attended the ACT of Education’s Year-End Celebration on Friday as Community Champion honorees. At this event, awards were given to recognize the dedication to student success in their Monroe-Orleans regions, and the commitment to the betterment of our public schools through partnership, support, and service. We are proud to say that Jean Sweet and our Penfield branch were both selected as Community Champions for Public Education this year!
Jean was nominated by the Webster School District for her involvement in the Webster YEA! (Youth Entrepreneurial Academy). Of Jean’s 39 years at the credit union, 10 of those have been committed to the YEA! program, serving as an Investor Panelist. Through this year-long program, Webster high school students generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors, and launch their very own companies. As an Investor Panelist, Jean helps distribute funding to help these students continue to develop and better their ideas.
Congratulations to Jean, and to our Penfield branch, for this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your continued commitment to the students within our community.
