Have you been referred by a friend or family member? Getting started is easy! Simply click the button below to start your digital application. When asked how you heard about Family First, select “Referral Promotion.” You’ll then be prompted to give the name and phone number of the current Family First member that referred you. Once you’ve completed your application, a representative will reach out to finalize your new account. And that’s it!

Existing Members
When your friend or family member opens their new account at Family First, they’ll be asked to provide the name of their referrer. When the account has been opened successfully, you’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know your referral has been processed. Then you can just sit back and relax! Once the new account has been open for 60 days, $50 will be deposited into your account. Refer up to 5 new members to receive a total of $250.
New Members
Step 1: When you set up your Pinnacle Checking at Family First, not only will you be rewarded $25 but you’ll also earn 1.00% APY** on balances up to $10,000 so you can continue to earn year-round. Complete the four simple steps below within 60 days of your account opening to earn a $25 reward!
1. Open a Pinnacle Checking
Already opened a First Checking account? No problem! Contact a representative to have it converted with just the click of a button. Visit www.familyfirstny.com/checking for details about our different checking account options!
2. Enroll in E-Statements
Once your account has been successfully opened, you’ll receive an onboarding email that, along with other important information, includes instructions to set up online banking and enroll in e-statements.
3. Set Up Direct Deposit
Set up Direct Deposit to your new account that totals a minimum of $250 during the month to qualify.
4. Set Up Bill Pay
Log in to online banking and select Payment Manager to register for Bill Pay. Never worry about a payment being late again with this easy-to-use and completely free service!
Step 2: Now that your Pinnacle Checking account is ready to go, it’s time to start spending! Approximately 7-10 days after your account opening, you’ll receive a new Family First VISA Debit Card in the mail. Use your new debit card at least 15 times within the first 90 days and we’ll reward you with another $50. It’s that easy!

*Existing members can refer up to 5 new members, earning $50 for each totaling a maximum of $250. $50 will be deposited into the account owner’s primary savings after the new account has remained open for 60 days. Both accounts must be open and in good standing in order to receive the bonus. The new member must open a checking account to qualify as a new account.
**New members will receive $50 once they complete 15 debit card transactions within the first 90 days of the account opening. They will receive an additional $25 if they open a Pinnacle Checking account, enroll in e-statements, and set up direct deposit (totaling a minimum of $250 monthly) and Bill Pay within 60 days of the account opening. Both accounts must be open and in good standing in order to receive the bonus.
Family First employees, as well as BuildingBlocks and FUNDamental accounts, are not eligible to participate in this promotion. Internal Revenue Service regulations require FFCU to report this bonus on a Form 1099-INT.
