At Family First Credit Union, protecting your account and personal information is one of our top priorities. As part of our ongoing efforts to help prevent fraud and keep your accounts secure, we’re adding an extra layer of protection to certain areas of Online Banking and our Mobile App.

Continuous Verification

We’re adding a new layer of security that works behind the scenes while you’re logged into Online Banking or the app. Think of it as a quiet background check that looks at things like how you type, how you hold your phone, and where you’re logging in from, to confirms it’s really you.

Most of the time, you won’t notice anything different. But if something seems off, like the behavior suddenly doesn’t follow your normal pattern, we may pause things and ask you to verify your identity before you continue.

Why we’re doing this:

  • Stops criminals from taking over your account, even if they have your password
  • Catches suspicious activity during a session, not just at login
  • Blocks automated bots and hacking attempts

Improved Verification Codes (MFA)

You may already be used to entering a code we text you or call you with when logging in. We’re expanding when you’ll see this extra step, specifically when you:

  • Change your account settings
  • Transfer money between accounts
  • Transfer money to external accounts
  • Update your phone number or contact info

This gives you one more checkpoint to make sure it’s really you making these changes.

These extra steps add another layer of protection for your account. Please never share your MFA code with anyone. A Family First employee will never ask you for it.

Thank you for helping us keep your Family First accounts secure!
