Family First Credit Union is pleased to announce the upcoming merger with Focus First Credit Union, officially approved by the Focus First membership on December 1, 2025. Through this merger, Focus First’s membership will transition to Family First Credit Union, gaining access to an expanded suite of financial products and services, including enhanced digital banking, expanded lending solutions, mortgages, and more. In addition, the existing Focus First office will become a new Family First branch, providing added convenience for members on the west side of Rochester.

The merger will take effect on January 1, 2026. The Family First team is working closely with the Focus First to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. We are thrilled to welcome the Focus First members and staff into the Family First community!

This merger allows Focus First members to gain access to expanded products, services, and technology while maintaining a strong, local credit union presence. By joining Family First Credit Union, Focus First members benefit from increased financial strength, long-term stability, and enhanced digital and lending services, while continuing to receive personalized, community-focused care.

Absolutely, and with the same staff you’ve gotten to know! The Focus First branch will remain open and fully operational throughout the transition period. Focus First members will continue banking at this location until the system conversion is completed on April 1, 2026.

New Branch Hours, Effective January 5:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm 

Wednesday: 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

We do not anticipate major service disruptions. Our teams are working carefully to ensure a smooth transition, and members will be notified in advance of any planned interruptions.

At this time, no immediate action is required. However, we may request updated contact information and identification prior to the April 1 conversion to ensure a smooth transition.

Yes. Accounts will be renumbered so each member has one primary account number, with unique two-digit suffixes assigned to each share or loan. You will start using your new Family First account number and routing number (222382593) on April 1, 2026.

All existing Focus First accounts will transition to Family First. Your accounts will be fully established and active in Family First’s system on April 1, 2026, at which time Focus First accounts will officially close.

Checking Accounts: If you have a checking account, you will receive your new debit card/checks prior to the anticipated conversion date of April 1.

Credit Cards: If you currently have a Focus First Visa Credit Card, our team will be reaching out with next steps.

No. Family First will provide you with updated routing and direct deposit information by March 1, 2026. Employers or payment providers will need this updated information, and we will guide you through that process.

Your rates will remain the same. If you open a new savings/CD/loan at Family First, those will be opened with our rates.

Once the conversion is complete, you will be subject to Family First’s fee schedule. Family First does NOT charge a Bill Pay fee.

You will be able to enroll beginning April 1, 2026, once your accounts are live in Family First’s system.

Yes, since you will be on a new online banking system, you will have to register as though you’re a new member.

Bill Pay will be available through Family First Online Banking and will be offered at no cost. Focus First members will need to reestablish Bill Pay through the Family First Online Banking system once registered. 

Mobile Deposit is supported through Family First’s mobile banking app and members can enroll once registered.

Yes. You will receive a new Family First debit card prior to April 1, 2026. Your Focus First debit card will deactivate on April 1, and your new card will become active that same day. Family First will reach out to you with more information. 

If you currently have a Focus First Visa Credit Card, a Family First representative will be reaching out to you to coordinate the transition.

Focus First checks will not be negotiated after the conversion date of April 1. Additional guidance regarding checks will be provided.

Yes! The faces you’ve become comfortable with will be joining Family First. You’ll see some new faces in the Gates branch as we train our new Family members as well. 

Starting April 1, you will be able to use all Family First branches and you will have FREE usage of all ATMs participating in the Shared Branching network.

This merger allows Family First to expand its presence on the west side of Rochester, strengthen its financial position, and support a local credit union facing operational challenges, while remaining committed to community-focused service and long-term stability for all members.

The system transition is expected to be completed by April 1, 2026. Until then, Focus First members will continue banking at their existing location.

Family First members are expected to be able to utilize the Focus First location beginning in February 2026.
